BOTSWANA POLICE COLLEGE UNITS

There are operational units within the College. Below are lists of College Units falling under two main categories: Academic and Administrative.

ADMINISTRATION

The Unit is responsible for the coordination of the day to day administrative functions and ensures

proper maintenance of records and effective communication within the College.

CLINIC

The clinic gives professional medical health services to College, Police and ILEA personnel, service providers and members of the public.

FINANCE

The Unit monitors all financial and supplies processes for the College. It is also charged with ensuring adherence to Government Financial and Supplies Regulations including tender procedures in procurement and payment of all outsourced services of the College.

POLICING AND MANAGEMENT UNIT

The Unit is mandated with the training of all serving police officers on police leadership,management and supervision disciplines as training need dictates.

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT TRAINING UNIT

The Unit is mandated with the training of all serving police officers on criminal investigation tactics as training need dictates.

PRE-SERVICE UNIT

The Unit is charged with managing Pre-service programme.It ensures that trainees are well trained and match the organisational needs.

TRAFFIC AND DRIVER TRAINING UNIT

The Unit is responsible for the management of traffic and driver training programmes for serving police personnel.

ESTATE & PROCUREMENT UNIT

The Unit mainly manages and maintains the College estate and installations by ensuring that buildings are properly used and that all faults are attended to.

LIBRARY

The Unit is responsible for collection and development of information sources to support the College curricula.

QUALITY ASSURANCE UNIT

The Unit is mandated with ensuring quality of training, program development and evaluation of the training. It also includes; accreditation of Botswana Police College programmes, registration of College Trainers and assessments.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY UNIT

The Unit provides Information Technology support service to the Police College through acquisition and installation of all IT hardware and software and its maintenance as well as all related technical support or Help Desk services.
